Process
Have you ever thought about how the old Gameboy could produce relatively detailed images on such a simple 1-bit display? No? Well, I have the answer for you anyway. It's called "dithering".
Dithering works by adding an intentional layer of noise to the image. This layer of noise allows you to create gradients and shades while sill only using one color.
This is the technique I've adapted to turn simple shapes into retro space age design posters.
