Indró is the name I use when I profile myself as a musician. I wanted a name that was unique, but most importantly deeply personal. The backstory is that my grandparent, who were farmers, had a small farmhouse in Southern Iceland. Instead of street addresses, all the farms here have unique names, and my grandparents' house was called "Indriðakot". But just like every other icelandic word it can be a mouthfull to say, so we usually just called it "Indró", (pronounced "Indr-oh).
THE SONG
SYNTHWAVE SYNTHWAVE SYNTHWAVE. I always love experimenting with new sounds, and for this track I decided to go full synthwave. Of coruse with my own, special touch.
Even though the song Stratos might take you on a journey to space, the name is actually not inspired by "stratosphere". The name Stratos comes from the volcano Hekla, which is a type of volcano called "stratovolcano". I dug though my old photo archives in search for the perfect image of Hekla to use as my cover art.
Contrary to the paragraph you just read, the motion graphics I made for the Spotify-canvas is 100% inspired by space. I mashed up clips of classic 40s and 50s space movies and experimented with a custom made halftone effect to give it that gritty, retro look. The result tied the sound and visuals together in one neon-tinged package.
